Zen Dragon Martial Arts - Founded in August 2005, our martial arts school has grown to serve 230 students of all ages, offering both private and group instruction. We specialize in teaching Shaolin Kenpo, a dynamic blend of Karate, Kung Fu, and Japanese Jiu Jitsu, with a strong emphasis on practical self-defense. Our programs welcome men, women, and children, creating a supportive environment for all skill levels. Our head instructor brings extensive experience from training and teaching at renowned dojos in Anaheim, Walnut, and Westwood, California. He earned his 1st-degree black belt in China during a 2002 training trip and continued his advancement with higher degrees earned at our Lake Forest and Huntington Beach headquarters. Recognized as a 5th-degree Master since 2016, he received this honor at Wudang Mountain, China—one of martial arts' most sacred locations. His most recent achievement is a 6th-degree black belt, awarded at our Redmond, WA headquarters in November 2024.In addition to empty-hand techniques, we offer expert weapons training, with specialties in Chinese broadsword and staff. Students can also learn to use a wide variety of traditional weapons, including nunchaku, katana, tonfas, escrima sticks, kamas, three-section staff, kwan dao, spear, hook swords, straight sword, and whip chain.
