The Eastside EntrepreneuHERs is an ongoing networking group for female-identifying business owners on the Eastside with a focus on community, growth, and education. Co-founder Rachel Rowland and I know how challenging (and sometimes isolating) running a business can be, so we have worked hard to establish a business family where our members can flourish as individuals and businesses.
Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let me introduce my partner in crime!
Rachel Rowland was born and raised in Ballard and later moved to the Eastside to be closer to her teaching job with the Issaquah School District. Years later she realized that she still didn't have many close friends nearby, so it was time to make some! This was right about the time she decided to take the leap from educating students to educating home buyers and sellers. A self-proclaimed Real Estate Matchmaker, Rachel loves applying her 11 years of teaching experience and local connections to help others. Although she loves helping anyone, Rachel excels with first-time home buyers and sellers, guiding them through their first real estate transactions of that kind. For our business ladies, she is able to help with commercial purchases and leases so your business can have the perfect home too!
You may be asking yourself how we got here? Rachel and I initially met over a shared love of animals and desire to make new friends. Since then we have attended ample networking events, both together and separately, and felt like we hadn't quite found what we were looking for. The solution? Create it ourselves! The combo of Rachel's teaching background and local knowledge with my business connections and event-planning experience seemed too good to ignore! And let us say, we are very proud of the business community we’ve created.
The Eastside EntrepreneuHERs meet twice per month on the 1st and 3rd Thursday from 11:00-12:30 in Kirkland and new this year, we will be having a once a month meeting on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6-7:30pm, also in Kirkland. Regular attendance is expected from our members as we know everyone in the room benefits from each other’s knowledge and experience. We also host optional meetups each quarter with the goal of getting to know each other better in a more casual/fun environment.
